Finding out if you are even eligible to apply for a UK Tier 5 Visa is an important part of the overall application process. Going to the United Kingdom is an exciting experience, and when you are able to go there to become a temporary citizen, it wins out over any vacation experience. Below are some of the main qualifications you must meet to apply.

First, you must be an official citizen of one of the countries that is a member of the Youth Mobility Scheme. These countries are Japan, Canada, New Zealand, Monaco and Australia. If you live outside of these countries, then you will not qualify.

You must also be over the age of 18 and under the age of 31 at the time of your application. Anything outside this age range will be rejected, although there might be other visa options available that you can sign up for.

You need to have a minimum balance in your bank account. Depending on what country you are from, this could be anywhere from $2,000 to $5,000. This money will be considered maintenance funds to help cover your expenses while you are there.

You cannot be the parent or guardian of any child below the age of 18. Similarly, you cannot be financially responsible for anybody under the age of 18 when you apply. Otherwise, your application will be rejected.

You also cannot have had a UK Tier 5 visa in the past. It is a single-use only visa that lasts for a maximum of two years.

Applying for a UK Tier 5 visa doesn’t have to be extremely difficult if you have the right resources. Knowing if you are eligible is the first step.
